Projects of the scale of the development of the Anaklia Port and Free Industrial Zone are as rare as they are strategically important. In February 2016, the Government of Georgia selected The Anaklia Development Consortium to develop, build, operate, and maintain the Anaklia Deep Sea Port, and a proposed highly distinctive Free Industrial Zone to further catalyse economic growth in the region.
Firstcom has been working with the Anaklia Development Consortium for many months, helping to develop the the brand and to develop a strong creative identity for the this major new development entity.
The Anaklia Development Consortium is a special purpose vehicle between Georgian group TBC Holding and Conti International out of the USA. The goal of the project is to put Georgia back on the Silk Road map and transform Anaklia into a regional logistics hub, connecting Europe and Asia and ultimately, reopening the ancient Silk Road trade route.
In the new logo, the Anaklia Development Consortium name combines with a red silk banner, reflective of the importance of Anaklia on the traditional Silk Road trade route between East and West. Colour choice is reflective of Georgian identity and the strong typestyle represents the strength of the consortium and the long-term nature of the projects being undertaken.
The development of the Anaklia deep sea port is a cornerstone in the revitalisation of this once great economic route from China to Europe. "The awarding of this brand development contract to Firstcom is an important win for us. We are working with a number of large companies and brands around the world and we believe that we bring both experience and unique creative insights to this project. Since the contract has been awarded, we have had to ramp up activity and move everything from the theoretical to the practical, real world of a major global project. It’s very exciting times.” commented Conor Bofin, Managing Director at Firstcom, the Dublin, Ireland based design and web consultancy.

@donovanh Yes! Great point about how the infinite scroll effect can disrupt purposeful grouping.
